We believe in minimal data collection. We only collect the information necessary to provide and improve the ZenGrove experience.
- Account Information: If you choose to create an account to sync your Grove across devices, we collect your email address and a hashed password.
- Usage Data: We collect anonymous, aggregated data about how you use the app (e.g., timer duration, species planted, app crashes) to improve performance.
- Local Storage: Your focus history, unlocked species, and coin balance are primarily stored locally on your device.
- Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version, and app version for diagnostic purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the ZenGrove application
- Sync your progress across devices (if you have an account)
- Diagnose and fix technical issues

3. Third-Party SDKs and Services
ZenGrove uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated analytics to understand how users interact with the app. No personally identifiable information is shared.
- Crash Reporting: We use crash reporting tools to identify and fix bugs. These tools collect device info and stack traces but not personal data.
- Tree Planting Partners: When you redeem coins for real tree planting, we work with vetted reforestation NGOs. Only aggregate planting data (total trees) is shared — no personal user data.
4. Data Retention
If you delete your ZenGrove account, we will delete your personal information from our servers within 30 days. Local data (stored on your device) is deleted when you uninstall the app.
5. Children's Privacy
ZenGrove is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and secure storage practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
