ZenGrove is a focus timer that uses your phone's screen time as a growing mechanism. Start a session, choose a tree species, and put your phone down. As long as you stay in the app, your digital tree grows. Leave the app and your tree begins to wither — it's gone after 15 seconds of absence. Complete the session and your tree matures, joining your personal grove. Each session also earns you coins that can be redeemed to plant real trees.
Every completed focus session earns you coins. Once you accumulate 500 coins, you can redeem them in the app to have ZenGrove plant one real tree on your behalf. We work with certified reforestation NGOs to plant trees in areas that need them most — from tropical rainforests to arid regions. You'll receive a confirmation when your tree has been planted.
ZenGrove features 19 unique tree species, each with beautiful hand-crafted illustrations. You start with a few species unlocked, and earn more as you hit focus milestones. Species include Cherry Blossom, Giant Redwood, Weeping Willow, Olive Tree, Japanese Maple, Baobab, and many more — each with its own growth animation and unique aesthetic.
No — ZenGrove has a built-in 15-second grace period. If you leave the app briefly (for example, to answer a call or check a notification), your tree won't die immediately. You have 15 seconds to return before the session is affected. Incoming phone calls do not count as leaving the app — your tree stays safe during calls. Only intentionally navigating away from ZenGrove for more than 15 seconds will endanger your tree.
Yes! Create a ZenGrove account with your email address and your entire grove — trees, coins, streaks, and statistics — will sync across all your devices. Your local progress is always preserved on-device, even without an account.
